The University of Kairouan is pleased to announce the signature of the Consortium Agreement for the Erasmus+ project SHIFT‑MED – “Shaping the Future of Universities: Twin Transition across the Mediterranean” (Project No. 101235553).
Signed on 1 February 2026, the Consortium Agreement is based on the Grant Agreement with the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and formalizes the cooperation between all partner institutions. The University of Kairouan acts as Coordinator of the project.
The SHIFT‑MED consortium brings together the following partners:
- Université de Kairouan (UKAIR) – Tunisia – Coordinator
- Université de Jendouba (UJ) – Tunisia
- Buyuk Ortadogu Saglik ve Egitim Vakfi (BOSEV) – Türkiye
- Ankara Haci Bayram Veli Universitesi (AHBVU) – Türkiye
- An‑Najah National University (ANNU) – Palestine
- Société Al Emtiez (EMTIEZ) – Tunisia
- Università degli Studi di Napoli Parthenope (UNIPARTH) – Italy
- Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK) – Palestine
The Consortium Agreement:
- Defines the roles and responsibilities of all partners;
- Establishes the governance structure of the project (Coordinator, Project Steering Committee, WP Leaders, Advisory Board);
- Regulates financial management, reporting, and decision‑making procedures;
- Sets common rules on data protection, confidentiality, and intellectual outputs.
By signing this agreement, the partners commit to the joint implementation of SHIFT‑MED, which aims to:
- Support the green and digital (“twin”) transition of universities in the Mediterranean region;
- Strengthen institutional capacity, sustainability governance, and innovation ecosystems;
- Promote cooperation and knowledge exchange between higher education institutions and their stakeholders.
On behalf of the University of Kairouan, the Consortium Agreement was signed by Professor Mhemmed El Ghandour, Dean, on 16 April 2026.
This milestone marks an important step for the official launch and coordinated implementation of SHIFT‑MED across all partner institutions.
